Civil War, directed by Alex Garland and distributed by A24, has made quite a splash in recent days. Scott Tobias over at the Reveal published a fantastic look back through Alex Garland’s previous work, centering on four specific films that Garland either wrote or directed – The Beach, 28 Days Later, Never Let Me Go, and Dredd. Each one gives us clues to Garland’s work and the themes that resurface throughout it, and educate this truly chilling look into a (alternate?) future.
