April at the Movies

It’s beginning to look like these updates always come in the middle of the month. April is a busy month in film, so let’s kick it off!

The Bubble – Netflix, April 1st

A comedy about making a movie during the pandemic, with a startlingly deep comedic cast – Leslie Mann, Fred Armisen, Keegan-Michael Key, along with Karen Gillan, Pedro Pascal, and David Duchovny and many many more. Unfortunately, reviews haven’t been particularly kind, but I’ll still be watching this in the near future.

Fantastic Beasts: The Secrets of Dumbledore – Theaters, April 15th

I continue to be a sucker for stories from the Hogwarts universe. Eddie Redmayne is fantastic, and I love me some Jude Law. With the rumors that this franchise may stretch to 5 films, I hope this movie has some solid story for us to sink our teeth into.

The Bad Guys – Theaters, April 22nd

Animated films are fun, and the voice over cast for this movie has some amazing talent, including one of my favorites – Richard Ayoade. I think this will be a fun little heist movie.

The Northman – Theaters, April 22nd

Holy sweeping epic, Batman. This movie looks HUGE! From the first trailer I saw of this movie I knew this would make my list. (Still trying to figure out why that valkyrie has braces.)
